What began in 1985 with three brothers and a pick-up truck filled with fresh produce from the Los Angeles Produce Market has grown into one of the most trusted names in foodservice distribution across the Western United States.

Driven by a shared vision to build something lasting, the Tapia brothers went door to door selling cases of product to independent restaurants, doing everything themselves—from sales and delivery to loading by hand. Their hard work quickly paid off. Within a year, they grew from operating out of a single truck to a 7,000 square foot warehouse—and eventually into their current headquarters in Maywood, California.

Built on a foundation of trust, grit, and a customer-first philosophy, Tapia Brothers redefined the foodservice experience by prioritizing relationships over profits. That same commitment has guided their steady growth over the years. Today, Tapia Brothers serves over 4,500 customers across eight Western states from four state-of-the-art distribution centers totaling over 400,000 square feet.

In 2014, the company expanded its capabilities even further with the launch of Kitchen Cuts, a USDA-certified processing facility that offers custom produce solutions to meet the evolving needs of their clientele.

Tapia Brothers is now a full-service broadline distributor with a catalog of over 12,000 items, proudly serving independent restaurants, multi-unit chains, and government institutions alike. Yet despite the growth, one thing has never changed: a steadfast dedication to personal service and family values.

Title: 1985. Text: Raúl Tapia joins his two brothers and form Tapia Brothers on January 1st 1985. They all put in their savings to rent out a 7,000 square foot warehouse on the corner of atlantic Blvd. and 61st street in the city of Maywood. 2 delevery trucks and 3 employees.
